 About Mahatma Gandhi Museum :

Gandhi Museum, commonly referred to as Mahatma Gandhi Museum is located in the city of Rajkot. As clear by its name, the museum is an attraction documenting and exhibiting the life and work of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. The institution was attended by none other than Mahatma Gandhi in 1887.

The choice to transform this authentic site into an exhibition hall happened in 2017, an intention that was brought into reality on September 30, 2018, Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary. The museum, under the supervision of Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) and the Gujarat Tourism department, was inducted by Narendra Modi (Prime Minister of India), Vijay Rupani (Chief Minister of Gujarat) and Nitin Patel .

First Floor - consists of galleries 19-39 which highlight Gandhi ideologies and their place in today’s world, as well as journals, speeches, letters and interactive activities.

  • Light & Sound Show - the museum features a spectacular light and sound show using modernized 3D technology, based on the life of the revered Mahatma Gandhi. With a duration of twenty minutes the show is organized on a daily basis from 7:00 PM to 7:20 PM, although tickets for the sam must be purchased before 5:00 PM. Visitors who have purchased a museum ticket are eligible to attend the show free of any additional cost.
