Ramnath Mahadev Temple - Rajkot

About 550 years ago, Mahadev spontaneously appeared here and became famous as 'Ramanath' Mahadev. As this ghat temple predates Rajkot settlement, it is also known as a village temple. Mahadev Temple, the God of Gods, situated between the two streams of the Aji River, is the focal point of Rajkot with millions of devotees. When the Aji river floods, this temple gets submerged. Along with jalabhishek by devotees, jalabhishek is also done by nature in monsoons.

Ramnathpara of Old Rajkot, the oldest area of the city, is known as 'Chotekashi'. People come here with bada tech. Darshan, however, is a sub-temple of Ramnath as the temple is submerged in monsoons. For years, the seventh-eighth fair is held here. Years ago, the importance of this fair for old Rajkot is still intact today.
