Shimla Tourism :

                       Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh and a popular hill station with 
Indian families and honeymooners. Located at an altitude of 2,200 m, 
Shimla was the summer capital of British India. Shimla still retains its old 
world charm with beautiful colonial architecture, the pedestrian-friendly 
Mall Road and the ridge lined  with numerous shops, cafes and 
restaurants. 
 

                      Shimla is well connected to many cities and is only 4 hours from the 
nearby city of Chandigarh. The city also has an airport; However, there 
are not many daily flights from here.The railway station connects Shimla 
to the plans and is famous for the Kalka-Shimla railway line; a UNESCO  
World Heritage Site.

                        The weather is pleasant  most  months and tourists flock here, especially 
during the summer months. Winters are cold with some snowy days  from 
mid-December to late February. 
 
                        Shimla is often covered along with the nearby towns of Kufri, a hill station 
almost always covered in snow, and Chail, famous for a huge palace and 
the world's highest cricket ground. Tourists also visit the famous Jakhu 
Temple and tour various viewpoints during their trip to Shimla.
