Shamlaji Temple
Shamlaji Temple, also known as the Shamlaji Mandir or Shamlaji Ni Gadh, is an ancient Hindu temple located in the Aravalli Range of Gujarat, India. It is situated near the village of Shamlaji in the Sabarkantha district, approximately 130 kilometers (81 miles) from Ahmedabad.
The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is believed to be one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, which are important pilgrimage sites in Hinduism. According to mythology, it is believed that the heart or chest of Sati, Lord Shiva's wife, fell at this spot when her body was dismembered by Lord Vishnu's Sudarshan Chakra (discus).
