EME Temple

The A EME Temple, also known as the Armed Forces EME Temple, has an interesting history behind its establishment. Here's a brief overview:

The temple was built to honor the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) of the Indian Army. It was conceived and constructed by the soldiers and officers of the EME Corps stationed at the Electronics and Mechanical Engineering School (EME School) in Vadodara (Baroda), Gujarat, India.

The idea for the temple originated in the late 1960s when Major PK Nair, an officer of the EME Corps, visualized creating a place of worship dedicated to the EME soldiers. The temple's construction commenced in 1965 and took almost a decade to complete.

During its construction, discarded and obsolete military equipment were collected from various sources. These materials, including guns, vehicles, and machinery, were creatively incorporated into the temple's architecture, giving it a unique and awe-inspiring appearance.

The A EME Temple was officially inaugurated on August 1, 1974, by Lieutenant General R.S. Sparrow, the then Commandant of the EME School. Since then, it has served as a symbol of the EME Corps' contribution to the Indian Army and a place of worship for soldiers and their families.

Regarding the temple timings, it is typically open to visitors from morning until evening. The exact timings may vary, so it's recommended to check the current opening hours before planning your visit. The temple generally follows a schedule similar to the following:

Morning Timings: 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Evening Timings: 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM
