Activity at Vantara

Over 2,000 animals from 43 different species have reportedly been rescued and housed from abusive situations by Vantara's rescue and rehabilitation center. There are 2,100 committed employees that never stop giving animals in need a somewhere to stay.

"We have saved over 200 elephants and brought them here from all over the country," he continued. Here, we do "sewa" on elephants. This is a "sewalaya," not a zoological park. Elephants now call the 600-acre area that has been constructed their natural habitat.

Vantara: Mission and Vision

With this wildlife conservation effort, Vantara hopes to conserve critically endangered animals and restore their habitats, drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda's "jeev seva" philosophy. To raise the bar for zoos all throughout the nation, it intends to work with prestigious organizations like the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWFN) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), as well as Indian governmental authorities like the Zoo Authority of India.
