The arrow of the poacher named Jara at this spot hit Bhagvan Shree Krishna. Bhagvan Shree Krishna was resting in meditation pose under a pippal tree when the poacher misread the foot of Bhagvan Shree Krishna as a deer and hit from a distance.
Bhagvan generously pardoned the poacher and blessed him.
This divined leela of Bhagvan Shree Krishna is immortalised by a beautiful temple and an ancient pippal tree. Bhagvan Shree Krishna then walked a small distance and arrived at the holy banks of river Hiran from where he took his last journey to his Neejdham.
Background Story behind of Lord Shree Krishna :
During the battle between Pandavas and Kauravas at Kurukshetra, all hundred son of Queen Gandhari were died. Lord Shree Krishna visited Gandhari to offer condolences for the situation. Gandhari cursed Lord Shree Krishna that everyone from Yadav Dynasty would perish as she felt that Lord Krishna was able to stop war and saved his child. After few years this cursed showing the results and Yadava started fighting with each other. Lord Shree Krishna moved in the forest for meditation. One day Lord Shree Krishna rested under the Banyan Tree, hunter Jara mistakenly shot an arrow on Lord Shree Krishna’s leg with feeling of deer.
As per the Ramayana and Supreme Lord Vishnu’s incarnation, during the Ram Avatar, Lord Shree Ram killed the Vanar King Vali indirectly in hiding behind tree. Thus Lord Shree Ram blessed a boon to Vali that during the Dwapar Yug, I will take birth as Krishna and you will take birth as hunter Jara and I will be shot by your arrow at Bhalka Tirt in Prabhas Patan area. New Temple with peaceful surrounding is constructed by Somnath Temple Trust. Devotee who visits Somnath used to visit Bhalka Tirth.
